This is a monthly newsletter, designed to keep existing clients up-to-date with the latest APM and Lucidiom news, provide a forum for APM owners to share comments, questions and ideas, and to introduce our prospective customers to the values and benefits of owning a Touch Prints APM.

Like it? Hate it? Think improvements could be made? What's an APM? (see lucidiom.com). Please send any comments or suggestions regarding this newsletter to news@lucidiom.com.

    Spotlight on The Photo Store

We posed 5 questions to Merle Metcalf of The Photo Store, located in Amarillo, Texas about his APM 1000.

Lucidiom: After setting up the APM, how long was it before your first order?
Mr. Metcalf: The day after we received the APM it was up and running. Our first order was the day after that. [3/25/03]

Lucidiom: What type of printer are you connected to and how are you connected?
Mr. Metcalf: Our APM is connected to a Nortisu 2901 via an Ethernet cable. The APM places images in a “hot folder” and we retrieve the orders with the Noritsu software.

Lucidiom: Has the APM been more successful, less successful, or as successful as you anticipated?
Mr. Metcalf: The APM has been more successful than we anticipated. We were a bit apprehensive about the customer experience. Basically, would our customers be willing to use the APM and would they be intimidated by it? By all accounts, our customers have been very pleased with the APM. Further, the APM has improved our digital image workflow considerably.

Lucidiom: What is your favorite feature of the APM?
Mr. Metcalf: The ability to burn CDs for my customers at the terminal. This feature was not originally available to me. I received the APM 1.6 upgrade with that and many other features free about two months after my initial installation.

Lucidiom: What is your least favorite feature of the APM?
Mr. Metcalf: I would like the APM to be able to accept an xD card without an adapter.

Note: The APM 1000 and APM 2000 now support xD without an adapter. There is an upgrade available to existing customers that would like to be able to support xD directly. Please contact the sales department for more information.
What's on Our Schedule (Upcoming Features)
The APMNetwork.com website is in for a major update, due out in late fall. We will be adding product reports, making it easier to navigate, adding usage statistics reports (including order stats, features usage stats, and customer preference stats), administration features (so you can add user accounts for your employees) and better tracking of problems with your APM and "sidelined" orders. We are also enhancing the security of the site as well as translating the whole site, so it will be viewable in other languages.

In addition to the upgrades to the existing site, we will be adding a new section called "MyAPM," where APM owners can go to set up and configure (or reconfigure!) their APM settings and features.
